Jhin Build
Best Build Guide for Jhin
Item Build Description
Additional information on the items
CORE ITEMS
Guardian Angel
- Guardian Angel does not only provide 45 Ad + 40 Armor, it also provides a revive. This passive does have a 180s / 3 MInute cooldown and revives you with 50% base health and 30% mana. But what makes it worth buying so early? The passive activates infinit times.
+ high gold efficiency if passive is triggert
+ early advantage due to your extra life
+ low passive cooldown
+ safetyness
(+) if build with champion rune it safes the rune stats
Infinity Edge
- Standart item and good choice for every adc. Synergizes well with
Whisper
since every 4th shot crits.
Big powerspike on Jhin.
Youmuu's Ghostblade - Grants with bonus ad, ability haste and lethality overall good stats for Jhin. The bonus movement speed (from the passive) and attack speed (which comes with triggering the passive at max stacks) also do synergize pretty well with Jhin.
Boots of Swiftness - Standart boots. Since he is pretty immobile, Jhin relies on the movement speed bonus his passive gives him. With the 10 extra movement speed that swifty's grants more than other tier2 boots, getting in range for Whisper 's 4th shot , Deadly Flourish , Curtain Call or dodging skillshots like Rocket Grab or Light Binding will become more easy + it reduces slow effects by 30%.
WEAK SIDE (losing/weak matchup)
Playing weakside does only hurt if you play with champion rune since dying becomes more possible.
Since every of Jhin's core items is a possible 1'st item, playing weak side just takes the the agony of choice for your 1'st.
In this scenario you start with
Guardian Angel
. The revive makes dying worth since you can trade flashes or ignite for that + the enemy can't snowball instantly by killing you. Simple right? But that's not all.
Playing weak side also means that the enemy plays strong side. Playing strong side sometimes puts pressure on player so that they think, they have to win the lane at all costs. This leads to mistakes like playing overaggressive, doing missplays and macro mistakes like overstaying.
With your revive you can bait enemys, trade summs and punish your enemys.
Youmuus also raises your chance to dodge spells and gives you some utility.
STRONG SIDE (wining/strong matchup)
Like I already said, playing strong side leads to the way of thinking that u HAVE to win the lane. This can be either bad like I already explained but also good since it gives your mentality a little buff. You go for more risky plays and it makes you playing more aggressive.
With an offensive build you get the damage you need to play your matchup advantage out. But why the early
Guardian Angel
again?
To compensate mistakes and to create more space to go for aggressive plays.
CHAMPION BUILD
Start with Guardian Angel to protect the buff that champion rune provides and go for a full aggression build with an early Infinity Edge and a Mortal Reminder to open up your snowball-heavy playstyle. Only recommendet if you can snowball or if you play strong side!
SITUATIONALS
Maw of Malmortius - If you play vs burst mages such as Akali , Evelynn or Gragas.
Phantom Dancer
- Can replace
Rapid Firecannon
if you need something against assassins such as Zed , Fizz or Lee sin.
(Note: Thanks to P11 for reminding me that Phantom Dancer and Maw do share a passive what makes it unviable to build both.)
Quicksilver Enchant / [stasis enchant] - Quicksilver Enchant if your enemy does have some hard cc like Light Binding , Enchanted Crystal Arrow or Charm . Remember: It does not remove knock ups Glacial Fissure or knock backs Condemn . [stasis enchant] only if you can rely on your team. For example if you get caught and need some time for you team to catch up or to bait spells.
Jhin Runes
Best Runes for Jhin
Triumph: On my oppinion a pretty underrated rune. Kills or assists restore 10% missing health + you deal 3% bonus damage to low health targets what synergizes well with Whisper .
Spirit Walker: The 50 bonus HP buffs your early game + the 20% slow resistance protect your movemenspeed.
Sweet tooth: Bonus healing + gold for fruits you take anyway.

Jhin Matchups & Counters
Detailed information on how to play matchups and counters
What kind of minion is this?
Her early game is bad. Really bad. I mean reaaaally bad.
She only out-trades you during [jhin:passiver]'s reload.
Just stay away from walls and count your kills.
HOW TO PLAY YOUR CHAMPION
Most adc's like Jinx or Kai'Sa will outscale you as the game continous but that's fine with you, YOU shine with your skills.
Not in early game, not in late game, no, you shine ALL THE GAME. And why? Because you've mastered the true beauty behind murder.
Things you need to know
Here are some basic you need to learn if you want to master Jhin:
1. Use your
Dancing Grenade
to combine last hitting minions with harassing the enemy. As you already know your grenade does bounce on enemys in range.
Prioritizing enemys it can kill, your
Dancing Grenade
will become more and more powerful the more minions or champion it kills between the bounces.
If you manage to combine this with the grenade hitting the enemy champion as last, your grenade will become a powerfull poking tool.
Remember: Champions hit by the grenade are rootable by
Deadly Flourish
.
2. Work with your Captive Audience . Your traps remain for a long time. You can place them at different spots to reveal enemys trying to gank you, to spot the enemy supporter in a bush, to clear a wave faster or to mark champions for your Deadly Flourish . It's cast timer isn't that long, allowing you to place your traps between your auto attacks.
3. Poke with [jhin:passiv]'s 4'th shot. This opportunity will most likely show up once you are able to clear waves with 3 autos combined with your Dancing Grenade . With the wave beeing cleared you can freely walk up to poke the enemy with a free crit, only if you know you won't get caught by the enemy of course.
4. Last hit with your 4'th shot. Keep in mind that Whisper 's 4'th bullets damage scales with missing health. Means: the less hp the enemy has, the more damage it does. To use your passive the fullest, make sure to use your Dancing Grenade and Deadly Flourish before you pull off the last bullet.
5. Use your ult to prepare ganks. We all know this situation, your jungler wants to gank but you can't really engage since you whould die instantly. This is where your ult comes to use. Your ults bullets do slow pretty hard, applying some cc on the enemy to stop them from runing away.
And the most important thing: Count your f*n bullets.
Your 4'th shot is not a tool to engage. Most champions will just turn on you if you don't kill them with your 4'th shot since you have to reload.
With these tips you should be able to win the laning phase. But what do after that?
3 ADC Basics after your Laning Phase
1. Roaming. If you managed to destroy the enemy tower your team is atleast even or ahead, help your midlane to get his tower or swap with him.
This way you take your lead to other lanes so you can win them for your team. This only works if your lane is pushed out or if mid / jungle will do that for you.
IF: Your team just did the drake you also can swap with your baron lane to take the herald. Also, this only works if your team is willing to do so.
If not, stay on your lane and push with your jungler shadowing hopefully shadowing you to take some pressure from mid and baron lane.
2. Keep your lead up. Do not fall behind again, do not lower your pressure, don't give your enemy opportunities for a comeback.
3. Time. Your. Backports. 50secs left before the drake shows up. You have 2.000 gold in your pocket. What do you do now? Push the wave and backport.
This way you can spend your gold before important teamfights do start.
Last words
If you are actually reading the whole thing or even if you just scroll down to this point, thank you for reading and using my guide.
It took me almost 5 hours to complete it and i'm not even finished.
But who am I to think I can talk like a coach?
My name is Levi, ingame known as ζξζ ι ζξζ . (Yeah like the streamer ratirl, i know that)
With 4 years League (peaking Master 117lp) and 3 years Arena of Valor (peak Rank 21) experience i'm now trying
to help player improving their knowledge in Wild Rift with guides, cheat-sheets and someday with coaching sessions.
Also, i'm not creating these guides completely alone. Before i release stuff like this, i'm sharing it with player i deeply respect because of their game knowledge.
In this case, a champion guide, i speak to onetricks and high elo player since they know what to do with this champ and how other skilled player play him.
This time i worked with the streamer JinnWR (https://www.twitch.tv/jinnwr) who will soon start streaming again.
I also whould like to thank P11 (https://wildriftguides.gg/user/42/p11) for discussing about this guide together with me. Take a look on his guides too if you want to learn.
