Pros
- Big possibility that you may have a PENTAKILL
- Katarina can DOMINATE anyone if are ahead of them, so GANK as often as you can.
- She doesn't use any MANA, so use your skills as often as you can.
- TANK KILLER. She can easily kill tank users.
- She can hit invisible champions like: Teemo, Akali, Evelynn, Kaisa, Wukong, Kha'Zix, Rengar, etc.
- She can go in and out.
Cons
- Katarina is a SQUISHY champ, so stay away against BRUISER CHAMPS.
- Keep in mind that champs have their own unique skills so don't be so confident & observe their strategies.
- Even Katarina don't have any MANA, don't abuse her.
- Not all TANK champions can be easily killed.
- Proper positioning can be difficult.

Triumph will give you extra health taking down opponents and you will deal additional damage against enemies 35% below health which is good for your

Hunter Vampirism gives you magic and physical vamp which is so handy for her and will enhance her stability at late game.
Brutal this rune is optional, it's only for fun but also beneficial.

Katarina is a squishy champ but she is so unique when it comes to going in and going out safely. She can dominate enemies easily. If you can only position your blades properly you will outsmart your enemies. Just play safe, communicate with your allies, teamwork is a must, Don't get greedy sometimes, if you are ahead of the enemies don't get so confident because each champion has unique abilities. But Katarina can be easily countered. But overall she is a KILLING MACHINE at late game.

SUGGESTIONS
If you are playing Katarina in Mid lane, your number one objective is to have much gold to buy items.
Don't focus on killing their enemy mid laner. This may result in you having less gold than your enemy has.
Don't panic in team fights. Let your support initiate first. During team fights, target their ADR first as they are the damage dealers.
Always get your honey fruit. This may help you sustain the battle.
ITEMIZATION
Honestly, Katarina is a flexible champion. She can go AD or AP so it is up to you to decide.
But usually, Katarina is MAGE champion.
Hextech Gunblade
is a MUST for her. It makes you dealt damage and at the same time, you will get lifesteal.
Infinity Orb
this item is just optional. If you are far ahead of the enemy team you can buy this item. But this item doesn't have magic penetration in it.
