Solid‘s emerald jhin guide!

This is a guide made by a emerald player who plays mostly for fun, I will be talking about what I like to run and what’s personally fun to me. There’s a lot to jhin and this guide isn’t going to the most nitty gritty details however this is all stuff that will help!

Pros

  • Very strong wary game
  • Snowballs hard
  • Hella range
  • Great team fighting

Cons

  • Immobile
  • Hard to catch up with
  • Falls behind easy (personal experience)
  • One of the more complicated adcs (thank god kalista ain’t in yet)

Item Build Description

Additional information on the items

So we have two major options, crit or lethality, and it depends on both preference and the enemy team. Me personally I play with crit but lethality is good if you wanna one shot squishy enemies.

Youmuu’s Ghostblade is consistent in most builds as it’s a very strong item on jhin. The bonus movement speed and bonus damage lets you chunk enemies hard and is very powerful, how ever, if you want full crit, you have to sacrifice GA Guardian AngelGuardian Angel .

Another big thing is the difference between stasis and hextech protobelt! - There’s a ton of reasons to go either or but it does come down to one huge thing, how well you use flash. (As well as enemies but I’ll go in more detail after) with flashing it’s your main survivability but if your flashes are usually aggro then go stasis 100% so you can survive the splash back of being aggro. However if you flash defensively then you can go hextech for the aggro plays and more mobility to dodge abilities! One more thing to take note are assassins. If there are assassins TAKE STASIS! Assassins WILL kill you with out it!

Sweet Tooth
Sweet Tooth

I might have people disagree with me here but lemme explain.

-keystone:  Fleet FootworkFleet Footwork

fleet footwork is a very good keystone as it gives healing early on and movement speed when you poke. You can’t utilize conq well due to your low attack speed thanks to your passive [jhin:passive].

-1:   TriumphTriumph

triumph may receive some question marks but it’s very very good with [jhin:passive]. His 4th shot does bonus damage based on missing health, so triumph give you and extra oomph finishing people.

-2:  Hunter TitanHunter Titan

Hunter titan gives you more health for every unique takedown, and as an adc well health is very valuable needless to say.

-3:   Sweet ToothSweet Tooth
sweet tooth is a no brained pick, more healing and more gold. Basically every adc runs it unless they go manamune as an item.

The idea behind these runes is poking and sustaining. With Fleet FootworkFleet Footwork you can poke them hard and heal off of it and you get a ton of teamfight potential when you snowball! Hunter titan Hunter TitanHunter Titan makes this snowball even stronger later as you become harder to kill with  TriumphTriumph on top of it!

Summoner Spells

When to take which summoners

Flash
A must have especially with how immobile you are, if you are smart with your flashes [flash] you can take hextech belt [protobelt enchantment] instead of stasis [stasis enchantment] for more mobility
Heal
If your support refuses to take heal [heal].
Barrier
This is the best second option as it gives you a ton of survivability in a fight and might be the winning factor!
Ignite
Only take this if your feeling cocky

-This is your basic trade combo, the thing with jhin is you don’t exactly combo a lot so if your in a basic 2v2 this is the main one you worry about. You wanna set up an easy 4th shot WhisperWhisper to quickly execute the enemies and this is the fastest way to set it up.

Jhin

Why you should play jhin!

There’s many reasons to play JhinJhin and I personally heavily recommend it right now. With right set up with his Dancing GrenadeDancing Grenade and Deadly FlourishDeadly Flourish you can be extremely deadly and a threat that can be unstoppable! He’s a strong early game option and he’s worth taking the time so I recommend picking him up if you wish to have a solid early game champ like   JhinJhin !

Jhin

Ultimate usage

I feel like I have to have an entire section dedicated to his most interesting ability, Curtain call Curtain CallCurtain Call . This ultimate Curtain CallCurtain Call can be very difficult to set up but can be the defining factor to win a fight. So let’s talk about curtain call Curtain CallCurtain Call uses!

Use 1 - Finishing off enemies

Now if you want to finish someone off first take the enemy into consideration. Do they have stasis up? Do they have heal or barrier up? What champ are they ? If they are playing someone with high mobility like   LucianLucian or shielding like LuluLulu then chances are you won’t kill. However if you can see a clear shot to kill then go for it!

use 2 - area control

Curtain CallCurtain Call gives your area away with how it opens up, however you can utilize it to scare off enemies and control a zone. Say an enemy is taking dragon? Set up   Curtain CallCurtain Call and you threaten being able to steal dragon or kill the jungle and set up the team. It’s something that takes time to nail down but it’s important!

use 3 - teamfighting

JhinJhin falls behind his usually very mobile teammates so you can utilize curtain call Curtain CallCurtain Call to snipe from far away! Say your akali AkaliAkali and Xin ZhaoXin Zhao dash in ahead of you and you can catch up. Find a good position and Curtain CallCurtain Call to snip from far away and set up huge damage. Your 4th shot in it also does bonus damage off of missing health so you can utilize that to secure kills!

Lwhat happens if enemies escape my ult Curtain CallCurtain Call ?”

Well the best thing you can do is clear the waves with it.  Curtain CallCurtain Call melts through waves so you can use it to finish off waves coming in if all enemies escape!

Jhin

Low elo

I don’t recommend  JhinJhin anywhere under gold 2. He’s a very difficult champ to play around and hell I find emerald players fail to play around him. So if you wish to play   JhinJhin but need to grind I recommend spamming   EzrealEzreal as even doe he’s not that simple, he’s very strong and people know how to play around him.
