[2.1a] Gragas Guide - Go BOOM with drunk fatty man!

Kennen is like a mage with ranged auto attack but squishier, and harder to poke than Gragas . So you can keep poking with your Barrel Roll when he walk up for minion and possibly do the combo on him to chunk his health down and all-in

He's a Tryndamere , hit him with the short trade combo ( Body Slam >> Drunken Rage >> instant Barrel Roll ) and walk out when he use his Undying Rage or use your Explosive Cask to push him out of you or push him in the turret, depends on the situation

Garen is the definition of tanks, he is built to receive damage, and Gragas is just a mage with a melee auto attack. If Garen doesn't play aggressively, you can't really kill him. Things you can do against him is to just poke him with Barrel Roll and clear the minion wave to roam. 

If it's an AP Malphite , you can kill him easily because he does not have mobility and your damage output is faster than his. Just don't walk up when you are around 40%-50% health because you might get all-in by his Unstoppable Force >> Ground Slam >> Thunderclap >> Seismic Shard >> ignite

If it's a tank Malphite , treat him like a Garen or [dr.mundo] and just clear the wave and roam.

Camille laning phase in the early game is quite weak and her cooldown is longer than Gragas 's. You can constantly poke her health down with Barrel Roll because she have to auto attack you to get her barrier. Also, she can't properly use The Hextech Ultimatum on you because you can use Explosive Cask to push her out of the zone or push Camille toward your turret for you to do your full combo and possibly kill her

In the early game, her Five Point Strike damage doesn't hurt that much if she hit the Five Point Strike while you still got the defense from your Drunken Rage , and you will just heal up from Happy Hour . Just remember not to go for long trade with Akali and don't stand in her Twilight Shroud , she quite literally beat everyone in the game right now in long trades if 1v1

Every ranged matchup is bad for melee champs in baron lane, but Gragas can farm and poke  from his Barrel Roll , so in these matchups, you just need to poke them down with Barrel Roll until you think you can all-in them and kill them

treat him like a melee-ranged baron laner and go for short trades only, because you can heal and he can't. Go for all-in combo when he is low enough.

The skill that can kill you would be his Fling because you don't have mobility to escape from him like Yasuo's Sweeping Blade or Camille's Hookshot , so you just have to poke with your Barrel Roll when Singed walk around to farm his minions and go for an all-in when he's low enough (which most of the time wouldn't be the case)

He's like a Garen or [dr.mundo] with more kill pressure in lane if you screwed up and you can't really bully him out of lane either. But he don't have any mobility, so you just never [gragas:3] into him when he have Wither and Fury Of The Sands or you would have to burn your flash our ult. Again, clear your minions and roam but don't roam too much because he excels at splitpushing

As a split pusher and depends on his attack speed to put out a lot of damage, Gragas would get bullied out of lane if you Body Slam into a jax with Counter Strike . You can fight him before level 5 but after that you would lose the fight if no outplays were considered

Jarvan Iv has barrier, poke, disengage from Dragon Strike into Demacian Standard ; Gragas has defense stance from Drunken Rage , healing from Happy Hour and can Body Slam out of Cataclysm . You can't really kill each other in this lane unless if someone initiate the fight, then Jarvan Iv would beat Gragas because he is better in long trades. Just clear the minion and roam.

Don't bother trade with him, you definitely won't kill him in lane. Just use your skill to clear the minion waves and roam. As a matter of fact, you might get run down by him because of his insane healing from [dr.mundo:ult] and magic damage from his [dr.mundo:2]

Although it is rare to see Evelynn in patch 2.1A baron lane, it is still possible. It is the battle of poke but you are on a disadvantage because she can go invisible, her poke from Hate Spike is much longer and can set up ganks with her jungler easily if you overextend. You are definitely gonna be builled out of farming minion before level 5, so you should call for your jungler to help or let the minion crash into your turret to farm.

Don't walk up too far, or you will definitely be run down by Olaf because he have his slow from Undertow , his Ragnarok negates every cc and you only have your Body Slam to disengage. Just try to farm minions with your Barrel Roll and wait for your jungler.

Gragas has little to none mobility compared to Fiora because of the movement speed she gets from her Duelist's Dance , Lunge and Grand Challenge . In addition, she can counterattack you with her Riposte and all-in you if you are low enough or just perma-poke you with her Lunge

Really recommend you to max Drunken Rage in this matchup

Better fatty Gragas wins.

If Darius is constantly hit by your Barrel Roll , you can all-in with your full combo and kill him. However, if you wasted your Body Slam and get pulled by his Apprehend and miss your Explosive Cask to push him away from you, then you would be chunked down very hard or possibly killed. This matchup is kind of favored Gragas

If you are against a good Yasuo , he would harass you with the dash Sweeping Blade >> Steel Tempest stab or spin >> dash back with Sweeping Blade combo. You can potentially kill him when you got your Explosive Cask up but you would have to hit all your combo and don't get harassed too much by him in the early game for him to all-in you with the Sweeping Blade + Steel Tempest knock-up spin >> 1 auto attack >> Last Breath >> ignite and auto attack you to death.
