Tryndamere Build
Best Build Guide for Tryndamere

Item Build Description
Additional information on the items
The goal of this build is very simple: to reduce your
Spinning Slash
cooldown to 2 auto attacks.
Core Items
In this Tryndamere permaspin guide, whatever the rest of your items are, your two most important items are
Blade of the Ruined King
and
Solari Chargeblade
.
1.
Blade of the Ruined King
is your best friend. It gives you a lot of DPS because of the %HP on hit effect, further enhanced by
Battle Fury
's new attack speed boost. The lifesteal will help you win skirmishes. The passive slow will also help you stick to your enemies.
2.
Solari Chargeblade
is also an excellent choice because you can reach almost 100% crit rate just by building this item alone plus passive Fury, while gaining a lot of mobility from
Spinning Slash
because of Ability Haste. Plus, due to you being manaless, it's very likely for you to engage with 3 Solari stacks.
Boots Choices
Tier 2:
-
Gluttonous Greaves for the lifesteal.
-
Mercury's Treads is also a good choice if you need some tenacity, usually against hard CC comps. A hard CC-ed Tryndamere is a dead Tryndamere.
- You can also use
Ionian Boots of Lucidity to enhance your skills cooldown. This is also a core component for one of our Permaspin builds.
Tier 3:
-
Quicksilver Enchant is good against hard CC especially since enemies will try to shut you down.
-
Teleport Enchant is good to increase map presence
- The others are purely situational
Permaspin Items
The core of Permaspin build. There are two choices of building Permaspin Tryndamere: with Navori or without Navori.
1.
Navori Quickblades
is a Tryndamere third item recommended by many Wild Rift Tryndamere guide sites for a good reason. With navori, your Critical Rate will be 100% most of the time. With
Hunter Genius
as your fourth rune, you should have up to 45 Ability Haste, and you can now reduce
Spinning Slash
cooldown to 0 just by 2 auto attacks (Permaspin), while reducing the cooldowns of your basic skills as well.
2. Sometimes you might feel like
Navori Quickblades
deals no damage. Don't worry, because even without
Navori Quickblades
, you can still reduce your
Spinning Slash
cooldown to 0 just by 2 auto attacks, but you need slightly higher Ability Haste. To reach that, you can use
Hunter Genius
, buy
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
, and build a 25 Ability Haste tier 3 item (15 AH from Solari + 25 AH from item + 15 AH from Ionia + 15 AH from Genius = 70 AH) .
Luckily, one of the 25 AH items, Trinity Force, is very good for our Tryndamere.
Other than 25 Ability Haste,
Trinity Force
gives you damage, Sheen, health, attack speed, and a lot of movement speed. Since your critical rate is already almost 100% anyway, you need another source of damage, and Sheen will be a nice addition. As a Permaspin Tryndamere, your cooldowns [especially Spinning Slash] will be so fast you can proc Sheen again and again to give your enemies tons of damage. And due to the sources of movement speed Trinity Force gives (5% + 20 on-hit), you can also stick to your enemies much easier. The only downside is that Trinity Force is expensive.
The mathematics of permaspin will be explained in further sections :D
Infinity Edge
Luckily, since Tryndamere has a massive crit passive, you don't need to build that much Critical rate. That's where
Infinity Edge
shines, since it gives you enhanced critical damage which dramatically boosts your damage output, making your permaspin Tryndamere even more painful to deal with. At this point, whether you build Navori or Trinity, your critical rate should reach 100% most of the time, so you don't even need to buy another crit items anymore. Alternatively, you can also build Infinity Edge before Trinity or Navori for instant tons of damage.
Situational Items
For example,
Guardian Angel
on Tryndamere is a pain to deal with because you have another life on top of having your immortality ult. Armor penetration items like
Mortal Reminder
or
Serylda's Grudge
will dramatically increase your damage output. Sadly, I have very little experience on Tryndamere so I can only make the most obvious item choices :(
Tryndamere Runes
Best Runes for Tryndamere

-
Conqueror gives you tons of damage. The fact you get a new AS boost passive helps you stack your Conqueror much faster.
-
Brutal gives you a lot of early power. Added with Tryndamere's new passive, your early game will be super strong
-
Adaptive Carapace gives Tryndamere a lot of sustain at low health, when this champion excels at. You can also change it with
Hunter Titan if you need to counter crowd controls, because even with your [tryndamere:ult] active, a CC'ed Tryndamere is a dead Tryndamere.
-
Hunter Genius gives you up to a whopping 15 Ability Haste, making your permaspin very strong while helps you casts your skills (especially your ult) more often.

One of the best Tryndamere mains, Yasukeh, likes using
Phase Rush
on Tryndamere for good reasons. It gives you a lot of mobility for anti-kite and escape, allows you to stick to your enemies while clicking that sword button and also get out from sticky situation. It also has synergy with [Ignite] and [Smite], since they can help activating Phase Rush. Furthermore, with Attack Speed from your passive + Phase Rush, it's equivalent to running both Phase Rush + Lethal Tempo on Tryndamere: something League PC players can ever dream of.

Tryndamere Matchups & Counters
Detailed information on how to play matchups and counters
Malphite is a pain to deal with for auto attacker champions. The fact that Riot gave Tryndamere new champion adjustment makes him even more painful. I don't know about other champions since I don't play that much, suggestions are welcome :)

Simple Tips
Early game? Late game? Not in this guide, sorry. These are simple gameplay tips which might or might not be true, especially coming from a person like me. Suggestions are very welcome.
1. Try casting your
Spinning Slash
outside battle, especially if you have Solari. It will make your roaming much faster, and in Solari's case, you can start a battle with full Solari stack. You can also add your first and second skill to the mix, but keep eyes on your cooldowns and enemy positions.
2 To shorten Tryndamere dash, turn Dash in Move Direction settings to Off. It will help you aim your spin more precisely. If you don't turn it off, however, you can also aim Spinning Slash manually but the settings is more practical.
3. Time your ult correctly. With a lot of time and training, you can get the hang of it.
4. Sometimes, it's okay to use
Bloodlust
in the middle of fight/skirmishes, but only if you already have high Critical Rate (since your attacks will still crit anyway). Still, it's usually better to cast skill 1 out of combat, though.
5. Admit it: Tryndamere can die. However, Legends never die.
6. It's fine if you don't build
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
on your non-Navori Permaspin Tryndamere, because if you use the [Spinning Slash] > AA > AA > Spinning Slash combo, your Sheen will still be on cooldown most of the time.

Permaspin Mathematics
Before we get to the mathematical calculation of permaspin, first, let's get the hang of the things we need to know:
1. Remember, our goal is to reduce the cooldown of
Spinning Slash
to mere 2 auto attacks
2. At max level, Tryndamere's Spinning Slash cooldown is 9 seconds
3. Ability Haste (AH) is a stat that reduces your cooldown. The formula is:
Initial CD x 100 / (100+AH)
4. Attack Speed (AS) is a stat that determines how many attacks you do in a second. For example, if you have 2 AS, you do 2 attacks per second.
- It also means that when you have 2 attacks per second, you need 1/2=0.5 second to launch one attack (or completing the whole attack animation)
5. The dash duration of Tryndamere's
Spinning Slash
is about 0.5 seconds at full dash length. The dash length has no limit.
The first Permaspin build is actually the recommended Tryndamere build, but here I will proof you why it fulfills the criteria of Permaspin.
6. Critical strikes reduces Tryndamere's
Spinning Slash
cooldown by 1 second on units, 2 on champions. We assume all of your attacks are critical.
With all of the preparations ready, here's the method of counting.
- First, we reduce the initial cooldown of Spinning Slash with Ability Haste ( 9 x 100 / (100+AH) )
- Second, we further reduce the cooldown with dash duration (0.5 seconds)
- (1st auto attack) Third, we assume all of Trynd's attacks are critical and we reduce the Spinning Slashcooldown by 2 second and extra 15% remaining cooldown reduction by Navori (if used).
- Fourth, reduce the cooldown by 1/attack speed (duration of 1 attack). This step is to measure the time gap between 1st and 2nd attack.
- (2nd auto attack) Repeat only the third step.
- Final result (remaining cooldown) must be as low as possible, Reach 0 or negative if you can, but if you can't, it must be at least lower than 1/attack speed. This means your
Spinning Slash can be used again before your third attack and you are a Permaspin Tryndamere.
- We assume Tryndamere's attack speed is 2.0 because 2.0 gives you reliable DPS (plus it's easier to count).
As I said earlier, with
Navori Quickblades
build, you need 40 Ability Haste to be mathematically correct. Here's how.
- First, 9 x 100 / (100+45) = 6.206896552
- Second, 6.206896552 - 0.5 = 5.706896552
- Third, 5.706896552 - 15% - 2 = 2.850862069
- Fourth, 2.850862069 - 0.5 = 2.350862069
- Fifth, 2.350862069 - 15% - 2 = -0.00176724135 (Lower than 0.5 => Permaspin)
Note: actually the Ability Haste requirement can be a bit lower, but Solari + Navori immediately gives you reliable Permaspin Tryndamere so it's a good path.
However, with non-Navori build, you go for 70 Ability Haste instead. (
Hunter Genius
,
Solari Chargeblade
,
Ionian Boots of Lucidity
,
Trinity Force
)
- 9 x 100 / (100+70) = 5.294117647
- 5.294117647 - 0.5 = 4.794117647
- 4.794117647 - 2 = 2.794117647
- 2.794117647 - 0.5 = 2.294117647
- 2.294117647 - 2 = 0.294117647 (Permaspin)
For the next Tryndamere 'mathematicians' who don't build Navori Quickblades, here is a simplified formula.
9 x 100 / (100+AH) - 0.5 (dash duration) - 4 - (1/Attack Speed) = 0, negative, or lower than 1/Attack Speed
It's harder to implement formula in Navori Quickblades build due to its percentage nature.

Closing Words
buff navori quickblades pls (jk)
This permaspin build is especially crafted for Wild Rift. If you also want to permaspin in the original PC League of Legends, don't worry, I have a guide for that ^w^.

Patch Notes
2.4b: Solari Chargeblade's Ability Haste is reduced from 25 to 15 Ability Haste, so I should tweak the mathematics of the guide a little bit.
