Gunslinging with Lucian

A short guide to Lucian, the Purifier. He is an highly mobile ADC which can play really agressive as a lanebully and still scale well into the lategame. He has a steep learning curve and an really high skill ceilling.

Pros

Mobile ADC with high burst potential
fast paced playstyle is really fun
great duellist => is save to push out sidelanes and can take 1v1's
flexible pick (can be played ADC, Mid and if you are especially disgusting Baron lane (i do not encourage the last)

Cons

Short range (500)
relativly high skillfloor => harder to get into this champ
too little itemslots, for what you actually want to build

Stormrazor vs Infinity Edge

Stormrazor	Infinity Edge
cheaper than IE(300 g)	has more AD than Stormrazor (15 AD)
great first item due to standalone benefits (slow + magic dmg)	increases all crit dmg by 30% => best scaling crit item
50-120 magic dmg after energized (will get reduced by MR) => 2 uses due to Lightslinger	due to limited item slots and core items (Navori, Solari are must have on Lucian + Armor Pen, boots and IE at some spot too)
slow enables more hits from combos	makes room for another item like [bloodthrister] for sustain.

You can use 90% of the game brown boots and be fine. You should definitly get your core items (IE, Chargeblade and Quickblades) before you upgrade boots.

Infinity Edge	High dmg, must get item
Solari Chargeblade	AH, On-hit dmg after each skill, counts for both AA with Lightslinger
Navori Quickblades	lots of AH, Reduces CD with each AA
Bloodthirster	Sustain lategame + 100% crit +shield against burst.
Serylda's Grudge	Best armor pen item for Lucian: slow + AH
Mortal Reminder	Only need against heavy healing
Lord Dominik's Regards	A niche option, thx to crit rate, but stats are horrible
Rapid Firecannon	Energized is used with your Passive double AA, Extra range for some distant poke
Stormrazor	Energized is used with your Passive double AA, slow is great + good early AD
Death's Dance	Great against AD Assassins, might combine with Plated Steelcaps
Maw of Malmortius	Great against AP burst, good to combine with Mercury's Treads
Serpent's Fang	Only get this against heavy shield of Karma & Shen
Ionian Boots of Lucidity	90% of the time these boots. Extra AH + CDR for summoners is super strong on Lucian
Gluttonous Greaves	If you need more LS in case BT isn't enough
Mercury's Treads	Against lots of CC + AP heavy coms
Plated Steelcaps	Against full AD teams and AD assassins constantly diving you.

Hunter Genius

Kraken Slayer is the only viable keystone for you. You easily proc it for high ammounts of burst damage.

On the Dominance section you have a lot of choices:

Gathering Storm high scaling for lategame. Free stats are always good, especially since Lucian already has a good scaling
Hunter Vampirism some bonus AD with vamp, always a good choice
Triumph a decent choice. Extra damage against enemies with less than 35% hp and healing 10% missing hp doesn't sound too bad.
Giant Slayer only pick it against 3 tanks, but i do not recommend the rune since you already got true dmg thx to Kraken Slayer
Sudden Impact this one is really interesting. 10 Armor pen after each dash, helps a lot in early game to snowball.

For Resolve i can only suggest Conditioning for free defensive stats or Hunter Titan in matchups with a lot of CC. Eventually you could go Bone Plating in some matchups to win the enemy all-in (or survive your all in).

Hunter Genius is the best option, cause Lucian likes AH. In some situations you want Nimbus Cloak for some extra MS.

As long as you don't get hit by Double Up you are fine. You run her down easily, and dash out of her ult, while burst her then down with yours.

Support Synergies

Nami is the best support you can play with. Her Tidecaller's Blessing is basically a signal to go in with Relentless Pursuit use Lightslinger followed by Piercing Light another passive proc so you use Kraken Slayer and Nami follows with [nami:2] to sustain you. Well aimed she can even hit Aqua Prison when the 2 enemies focus you and don't spend much attention on her.

Karma , Soraka are the second best pairings you can get. They allow you to play lanephase quite agressive and look for trades constantly. Karma is especially interesting since most people still forget that Serpent's Fang exists.

Thresh , Nautilus those 2 also allow you to play pretty agressive, but you can lay back till they get a catch, compared to the enchanter lanes. I put these 2 above the other hook champs just because of my experiance with the pairings, and i don't feel the synergy to Pyke and Blitz.

Braum , Leona , Shen , Alistar have pretty good engages and defensive abilities. You can play very active with a Braum or Shen because they deny the enemy dmg on you, while Alistar and Leona got very good engages and CC. All of them are also great at peeling for you.

Sona , Yuumi , Lulu , Janna those are rather enchanters which better off paired with a Hypercarry like Vayne . There is less options you can play with them (even so Lulu and Janna can be absolutly lane bullies)

Pyke , Blitzcrank , Amumu those are rather bad pairings, even so the extra gold from Death From Below is great, i feel like the other engagers are way better.
