[2.1a] Katarina Guide - [CP] Katarina - She's Finally Here

Katarina is a Hybrid Assassin/Mage commonly played in mid lane. She specializes in reducing her abilities cooldown after a successful enemy takedown. Considered as one of the deadliest Assassin in game due to her rapid and instant prowess. She has an amazing teamfight presence and could be a teamfight monster if positioned well

Hextech Gunblade

Katarina is relatively weak in early game so she need an item that has damage and sustainability. The Magical and Physical Vamp will help her lasts in battle, she deal some she heal some though this item won't give her damage spike but this is an ideal starting item for her

Infinity Orb

She gets damage spike after getting this item but not that much this will help her finish targets that are about to die. Aside from the bonus crit damage, the additional Move Speed and Magic Penetration is something that will make Katarina even powerful. She is a close combat Assassin and has strong pursuit specialty so these stats are just perfect for her

[stasis enchant]

The only movement item ideal to her is Gluttonous Greaves and Ionian Boots of Lucidity . 

• Most of the time you'll want to use Gluttonous Greaves to increase your sustainability, it provides magical and physical vamp which adds up to Hextech Gunblade  
• If you are a beginner practicing Katarina then go for Ionian Boots of Lucidity . This gives you early low cooldown spammable abilities

How about enchant item? [stasis enchant] is a good counter to a target lock Ultimate Skills like Zed's Ultimate [zed:ult], Camille's Ultimate The Hextech Ultimatum , Fizz's Ultimate Chum The Waters or any abilities in general that requires some time to animate. She's a close combat champion so most of the time she puts herself in danger to execute abilities. This item can help avoid being the main target by enemies after diving in but you gotta be fast in activating this item

Rabadon's Deathcap

This is where she gets her damage spike real high. This is perfect for Mid/Late game

Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Liandry's Torment

Rylai's Crystal Scepter is perfect combo for Death Lotus as it applies slow effect to enemies preventing them to quickly get out of her Ultimate unless if the enemies have escape skill. The optional item Liandry's Torment is an item that counter Tanks and Fighters who probably built items with additional Max Health specially at this point of the game where you're building this in late game. Liandry's Tornment deals additional damage based on health percentage so it's must item against them.  

Void Staff

The magic penetration is a good counter to enemies who built magic resistance to counter you as well. You can replace it with the following:

• Guardian Angel - Late game and enemies prepares themselves waiting for Katarina to dive in and will do anything to kill her. This item brings her back in battle but your allies must be around to the place where you die or else enemies will just gonna wait for you to resurrect and kill you again
• Morellonomicon - Since her Ultimate Death Lotus applies Grievous Wounds effect too, you might think that this item is unnecessary but the additional Max Health and Magic Penetration is also a good stat for her
